FPV Racing Nationals
What an amazing experience!
On the 23rd to 27th April 2016 I attended my first ever actual race event at the SAMAA / FlyFPVSA Nationals held in Klerksdorp. It was an absolute blast to meet other FPV enthusiasts and compete with them at a national level.
A BIG thank you to all the guys and girls making the FPV Drone racing nationals a reality.
It’s been an absolute blast!

Great big thanks to Alan Ball over at Flying Robot and the rest of the guys for the amazing prize.
And last but not least to all the pilots who attended, you guys are an inspiration and legends in the flesh!
You rock and I thank you for the opportunity to compete against you and being part of the history in the making!
WHAT IS FPV?
FPV is the acronym derived from the term "first person view".
This means that in order to fly the drone, a pilot must wear goggles. When the pilot looks through these goggles, they see from the front of the drone. It’s as if they are sitting right there in the drone’s cockpit. If you are looking to race your drone through a complex course, you need something different. You need an FPV drone and a pair of goggles.
